Check Pressure and Adjust: After inflating, double-check the tire pressure with your gauge. If it’s too
high, you can release some air by pressing the small release button on the pump head. If it’s too low,
you can add more air by repeating the pumping process.

Remove the Pump: Once the tire is properly inflated, remove the pump head from the valve. If you’re
using a Presta valve, tighten the locknut on the valve stem by turning it clockwise until snug. This helps
prevent air from escaping.

Replace the Valve Cap: Screw the plastic or metal valve cap back onto the Presta valve. This cap helps
keep dirt and debris out of the valve.
Check Both Tires: Don’t forget to repeat the process for your other tire if needed.

Remove the Dust Cap: If your tire has a dust cap on the valve, unscrew and remove it.

Open the Valve: Road bike tires typically use Presta valves, which have a small nut at the top. To
open the valve, unscrew this nut counterclockwise until it’s loose but not removed. If you have
Schrader valves (similar to car tire valves), you don’t need to open or close them.

Attach the Pump: If you have a Presta valve, make sure the pump’s nozzle is in the down
(closed) position. Press it gently onto the valve stem until it fits snugly. If you have a Schrader
valve, it should fit directly onto the valve without any extra steps.

Pump Air: Begin pumping air into the tire by pushing down on the pump handle. With each
stroke, you should feel resistance as you build pressure inside the tire.

Check Pressure: Periodically stop pumping and check the tire pressure using a pressure gauge.
Compare it to the recommended pressure range on the sidewall. Continue pumping until you
reach the desired pressure. Be cautious not to overinflate the Road Bike Tire, as this can cause blowouts or
damage.
